Learning about Diabetes and the Diabetes Online Community
There is a LOT of information on the Internet on type 1 diabetes (T1D), and sometimes it can feel overwhelming! In your search for information to build your knowledge base, we hope we can provide some helpful online resources.
For basic information on what T1D is, please visit JDRF’s website at www.jdrf.org. Included is a page with frequently asked questions, which you can find HERE.
What are we doing to cure, treat and prevent T1D? JDRF’s mission is to eradicate this disease, as well as ensure that those living with T1D are enjoying a better quality of life and are healthier when a cure is found. We also want to prevent future generations from ever going through a diagnosis. Understanding the research to accomplish these goals is not only important as you investigate current treatment options, but will provide you an educated hope for the future. Please visit www.jdrf.org/research to become inspired and informed today.
JDRF also has a social networking site for everyone living with T1D and their loved ones! Create a profile and share your story through Juvenation. Also, below are a list of popular sites for social networking, news, programs and resources. Get connected!
