Volunteer
Dedicated and active volunteers are the backbone of JDRF.
JDRF was founded in 1970 by parents of children with type 1 diabetes (T1D). Since its founding in 1970, JDRF has awarded more than $1.5 billion to T1D research. More than 80 percent of JDRF’s expenditures directly support research and research-related education. Past JDRF research efforts have helped to significantly improve the care of people with this disease, and have expanded the critical scientific understanding of T1D.
Driven by passionate, grassroots volunteers connected to children, adolescents, and adults with this disease, JDRF is the largest charitable supporter of T1D research.
There are many ways you can make a difference, including:
- Help out at the office.
We have mailings to stuff, stamps to stick, photos to file, envelopes to seal, media calls to make, and a database to keep up-to-date. - Work at an event.
Register guests at a Gala or pass out t-shirts at a Walk. Each year JDRF needs a virtual army of volunteers to make our fabulous special events a success. - Serve on a Committee.
Help develop the Chapter’s communications strategy. Be a part of our Outreach Program. Coordinate a Walk site. Help plan our Gala program. Solicit items for our event auctions. Our Committees are critical to our Chapter’s success. - Become an Advocate in our Government Relations Program
Let your voice be heard! Sign up to be an Advocate and contact your elected representatives about diabetes-related policies. Learn more > - Donate Through Your Business.
Make a gift of your printing or design services. Contribute your photography skills. Use your public relations firm to help get press for a Chapter event. Donate a company product – or an item for our live and silent auctions.
