2010 Golf Tournament Photo Slide Show
The 5th Annual “Tee Up to Cure Diabetes” Golf Tournament took place at the spectacular La Paloma Country Club on Friday, June 4th. With a sold out field of 144 golfers, players teed off in the 100ºF heat to help support diabetes research.

After the round, golfers returned to the club house to cool off and peruse the silent auction while listening to local musician Troy Gray play the flamenco guitar.  They next entered into the dining room to enjoy dinner and listen to the evening program which included speaker Mike Stoops, University of Arizona Head Football Coach, a live auction, Fund-A-Cure and several raffles.

By the end of the evening, over $50,000 had been raised through Fund-A-Cure; thanks to the generous matching contribution of Mr. Jim Click and the heartfelt words of Julie Blanchete, mother of Zach Type 1 since April 2010. The committee is projecting the event itself will raise over $150,000!

The Southern Arizona Branch wants to thank Tournament Chair Gregg Thompson and Auction Chair Carolyn Rusing for their fantastic leadership, along with the entire Golf Committee for their support!
