We would like to recognize and thank those who have made the Walk to Cure Diabetes possible year after year. Without the families, corporate partners, sponsors, vendors and volunteers this event would not be possible. The dollars you raise impacts the lives of those diagnosed with T1D and their caretakers. Thank you for sharing our goal to improve the lives of every person affected by T1D, you make it possible to fund the research and achieve our mission!!
The Walk to Cure Diabetes is JDRF’s largest fundraising event held at more than 200 locations across the world. Each year, more than 900,000 people participate in the Walk and raise funds so that we can continue to be the leading global organization focused on T1D research. The Walk brings people together for a worthy goal, is fun for families and builds camaraderie among company employees. It provides hope, empowerment and a sense of community.
The motivation each participant has starts with a story they are quick to share! It may be for themselves, a loved one or a friend, a co-worker or perhaps because someone they know or care about asked them to participate. Each year, more than 15,000 children and 15,000 adults – approximately 80 people per day – are diagnosed with type 1 diabetes (T1D) in the United States. We walk for them, and as many as 3 million Americans that have T1D. Who’s your #1?
JDRF is focused on finding a cure for type 1 diabetes (T1D) and its complications through the support of research. We have expanded our goals to improve the lives of all people affected by T1D by accelerating progress on the most promising opportunities for curing, better treating and preventing T1D.
The Desert Southwest Chapter is unbelievably grateful to those who continue to support these efforts that make a difference in the lives of those impacted by T1D!
